A group dedicated to the upholding of the memory of those who served in the Royal or Merchant Navies, and all those who supported them in the carrying out of this service.

The Future
It is difficult to be precise over what will or will not happen in the coming seasons but Chatham will of course have regular call on our services and a number of dates for their official shows have already been received. Plans seem to be in the making for a war weekend later in the year within the dockyard itself and we shall of course be available for that.

What is certain is that an attempt to attend as many of the War weekends about the country as we can will be made. If members are available to drive the vehicles it would be a good excuse to take them all with  us adding to the display.

Apart from the project already mentioned above the group have a number of other projects that we hope to be able to start. Some of these are large whilst others are small that it hopes will enhance not only the dockyard display but also the group. At present these are only in the early stages of development.

Obviously much depends on the dockyard but there are a further two projects that if they are accepted  by the Dockyard Trust will be long term tasks but again will look spectacular and you might feel that you wish to be part of them.

The calendar is already filling for the next season with a number of large shows booked already and so we are likely to be busy.

Vehicles
Presently within the group we have a number of vehicles which are all in the colours used by the navy during the war period. In fact we were one of the first to use colours other than the olive drab that most military vehicles are seen in.

Of the five vehicles, which obviously make up a large part of our display, two are Lorries, if you will pardon the expression, of the period and are in naval colours. Although fully working we are continuing with their restoration. Further we have two motor bikes and a staff car.

I bring up the point about the vehicles as an incentive to members who are able to drive certain of these depending upon ability to drive and insurance.
