Sometimes we are asked to help out at special events. In this case it was the centenary of the Scouting movement in Kent. Unfortunately they had been let down by a group and we were asked to step in at very short notice. A display was arranged and set up in the hall with just a small amount of equipment and artefacts which the group received keen interest from many, both young and old. After two days of hard work we can happily say that we had upheld the tradition of the Royal Navy in having come to the aid of someone who needed help and served them well. This sounds a little pompous, granted, but that is how members felt.
